Become a Professional Conduct Investigator (PCI

Our NH Board of Mental Health Practice is looking for a few more mental health counselors to help with their investigations. The goal is to reduce the amount of time it currently takes to complete the investigation, and the resultant stress that individuals feel when allegations are made against them.

The position involves investigating complaints against licensees. For each case, PCIs are paired up with a professional investigator from the Attorney General's Office. They provide the legal know-how and PCIs provide the professional-ethical expertise to appropriately investigate complaints to see if there are violations of law, administrative rule, or codes of ethics. A report of investigation is then written for the Board that describes the conduct in question and recommends a course of action to the Board. There is a monthly meeting for professional conduct investigators on the first Friday of the month.

Interested mental health counselors should contact Dayl Hufford (dayl@comcast.net), who oversees the PCIs.
